RunQ8: Road Safety and Traffic Safety

RunQ8 2012 will be held on January 21st, 2012. The 10km run, in support the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2021, will raise funds to support Fawzia Sultan Rehabilitation Institute’s (FSRI) Post- Crash Rehabilitation Training Institute.

FSRI will also introduce Road and Traffic Safety initiatives into local schools, where early intervention is the best predictor of future driving habits. These efforts are part of the Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety, a joint WHO-UN initiative to conquer the epidemic of road injury and death worldwide, where youth and children are disproportionate victims.

Race Day begins at 8 am sharp at the Marina Mall near the Starbucks by the waterfront marina. You can pick up a registration form at our registration points. Registration Points are at FSRI in Salmiya, 8:00am to 8:00pm, and Extreme Sports in Salmiya and in Shwaikh , working hours from 10:00am to 1:00 and 4:30 to 10:00pm. Registration fee is 10KD. All proceeds will go towards FSRI’s Road and Safety Initiative.
